The Apple Watch is due to release in the month of March this year, and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is all geared up to sell the product with heavy marketing, as per usual. However, as reports of the upcoming Apple device surface the internet, it is being increasingly doubted the product will amount to much. In fact, many experts are of the opinion that the product will carry within it many loopholes that should make it unworthy of the price tag of $349 that the product is reportedly going to carry.
Apple is a company that has brought revolutionary technologies to the world. The smartphone is, without a doubt, a creation of Apple, when the company released the iPhone back in 2007.
Before the iPhone, there did not exist any smartphones that people could use. However, with the inception of the iPhone, a fire was ignited, and many manufacturers then joined in to create their own versions of a smartphone to compete with the technology that Apple had introduced to the world. The iPhone is currently one of the most selling smartphone in the world, and has experienced high sales figure ever since its introduction. The iPad is another revolutionary product by Apple, one which introduced the world to the concept of a tablet.
The upcoming Apple Watch, reportedly, falls flat on battery life, as, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook, people may have to charge it up “daily” due to excessive use of the device. Truly, with the always active sensors installed within the product, the battery will drain almost instantaneously, requiring a charge every few hours. A huge setback for users living an active lifestyle, the exact segment of the market that Apple Watch targets.
Also, the fitness tracking abilities of the device also seem hampered, as they require a constant connection to GPS, which will require a connection to an iPhone device that consumers are expected to own and carry with them at all times. For fitness experts, carrying a phone is troublesome during exercise, and, if the watch does not function without it, the watch’s functionality seems redundant.
However, the world is now expecting the upcoming Apple Watch to be a revolutionary product, just like other Apple devices. Considering the fact that Sony is about to come out with its SmartWatch 3 this year as well, will Apple be able to sell Apple Watch as quickly as it sold the Apple iPhone and the Apple iPad when they first came out into the market? Considering the numerous flaws that Apple Watch has within it, will Apple Inc. be able to sell Apple Watch at all?
The answer to all these questions is: yes, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will be able to do all this, and the tool Apple Inc. would be using to achieve this feat is marketing. Apple is known to make products that sell, even if they are not the most powerful ones to exist in the market. Truly, the iPhones have never been the most powerful phones to exist in the world at any point of their existence, but Apple has been able to secure a considerable amount of market share for the phone amidst toughening competition.
