I though this would be a fun idea to name the top 10 political figures I would want to be stuck in an elevator with and why. Now I know you may have a much different opinion on this so tell me about your top 10 list and why in the comments below.

1. Barack Obama
2. George W Bush
3. Hillary Clinton
4. Bill Clinton
5. Al Gore
6. Joe Biden
7. Rudy Guiliani
8. Sarah Palin
9. John McCain
10. Arnold Schwarzenegger
The President of the most powerful nation in the world, Barack Obama, is an inspirational figure to millions of people. The first Black President in American history stands head and shoulders above the last President George W Bush.
If stuck in an elevator with Obama, I would congratulate him on the healthcare bill, which will help so many Americans who can’t afford the high costs of medical treatment. He is a President of the masses who understands the basic problems facing people and wants the average American to have a good, comfortable life. He has a huge task ahead of him in the aftermath of the recession and I’m confident that he’ll ensure America tides over all problems successfully.
It would undoubtedly be an overwhelming experience to be stuck in an elevator with Obama, but I would like to tell him that the country supports him and ‘yes we can’ together restore the United States to its deserved glory.
It would be amusing to be stuck in an elevator with George W. Bush. His gaffes, some of the worst for influential political figures on the world stage, had become huge hits on the internet. It would be interesting to see if in real life Bush’s persona is same as the image created by the media.
The Bush administration’s war on Iraq in 2003, resulting in the death of thousands of innocent civilians, damaged America’s reputation with protests across the globe. The war destroyed the little credibility Bush had and made many people think that they had made a big mistake by voting for him. I would like to know if Bush has any regrets about the decisions that he made when he was in office.
Hillary Clinton is a role model for women all over the world – she is strong, gutsy and very intelligent. Despite losing out to Obama in the presidential elections, she proved that women can challenge men in the political arena. If I were stuck in an elevator with Hillary Clinton, I would ask her what the secret behind her endless energy and drive is.
Hilary Clinton was groomed to succeed, with achievements starting in school and continuing even today. The Yale Law School graduate has led a remarkable life as the First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady of the United States, New York Senator and the 67th United States Secretary of State. I would try to express my admiration for her and ask her whether she intends to run for President again in future.
One of the smartest and most respected Presidents in the recent American history, Bill Clinton’s term was marked by ups and downs. The ups matter most as they had to do with his ability to run the country and the only disappointment was the Monica Lewinsky scandal, which was largely a personal issue, but still something unbecoming of someone in his position.
Bill Clinton’s term was a golden one with America enjoying a strong economic boom and a large budget surplus. He was responsible for successful negotiations with Vietnam and the Middle East. It was hardly a surprise that he won two successive terms. If I were stuck in an elevator with Bill Clinton, I would grab the opportunity to get his opinion on some of the latest issues troubling the world and the US in particular.
In spite of losing to George Bush in the 2000 Presidential elections, Al Gore has maintained his dignity over the years by whole heartedly involving himself in environmental issues and political activism. Not exactly the most exciting political figure to get stuck in an elevator with, Al Gore still has a lot to offer, a recognition of which was the Nobel Peace Price awarded to him for his environmental efforts. I would congratulate Al Gore on his ongoing efforts to educate people about global warming.
The current Vice President Joe Biden has mostly been in Obama’s shadow in the last two years, but that cannot be helped, thanks to Obama’s iconic status. Biden overcame his stuttering problems as a child to become Senator and eventually Vice President, playing a vital role in planning the bailout package for America’s crumbling financial and automobile giants.
I would congratulate him on the healthcare reform first and then muster the courage to ask what he thinks about his gaffe at the healthcare bill signing, when he muttered an expletive on an open microphone.
If I were stuck in an elevator with Rudy Guiliani, I would ask him about his experiences and memories of the post 9/11 months. As Mayor of New York during 2001, Rudy Guiliani won praise from all quarters for his handling after 9/11 when he would be at Ground Zero with firefighters and workers helping out at the devastated site, which deservedly won him the Time Person of the Year recognition.
Sarah Palin was a surprising 2008 Vice Presidential candidate with the Republicans perhaps trying to woo female voters. The Governor of Alaska, ‘soccer mom’ and former beauty queen saw a meteoric rise after her nomination, but not all was well as she became a subject of ridicule in many talk shows. At the moment though Sarah Palin has television projects lined up and if stuck in an elevator with her, I would ask her about her future plans. I have a feeling that she still has a lot of political ambition left in her.
If I were stuck in an elevator with McCain, I would prefer not to strike a conversation on controversial Republican policies knowing how easily he gets riled up. But one thing I would ask him is why he opposed the Obama healthcare plan and what in his opinion is a better healthcare alternative for the American public.
It would be really cool to get stuck in an elevator with Arnold Schwarzenegger, although he may be able to pry the elevator doors open with his bare hands! The current Governor of California and Hollywood action hero has been immensely successful in both showbiz and the political world, a rare achievement for someone who had humble beginnings. I would like to know from him if his acting career helped him convince voters about his promises!
