Google has a line of Nexus products and the latest addition to these products is the Nexus 6 Smartphone, Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus player. Earlier in October Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) had made an announcement of its newest Nexus products and on Wednesday these 3 products made their debut at a press event in New York. Google also unveiled its latest Android release at the event called Android 5.0 Lollipop. Google is targeting the high-end market with these products, which is why the prices of these three products are in line with the prices of Apple products.
Motorola manufactured the Nexus 6 and it looks a lot like the 5.2 inch Moto X. The Smartphone is made of a contoured aluminium frame and has a 6-inchQuad HD display screen. The aluminium body makes the phone heavier than the Smartphone standards but the weight is distributed evenly and the phone appears to be less heavy than it actually is.
The phone has a 13 megapixel camera, dual front-facing stereo speakers and a turbo charger. The turbo charger gives the phone a 6 hour battery life after a mere 15 minutes charge. Nexus 6 is not only bigger than the Moto X but is slightly bigger than the iPhone 6 plus and Samsungs Galaxy 4 as well. Google Play store is now accepting pre-orders for the unlocked versions of Nexus 6 smartphones. The price of the 32 GB model is $649 and that of the 64 GB model is $699.
Google partnered with HTC to come up with Nexus 9 tablet. It has an 8.9 inch screen with display resolution of 2048 by 1536 which is same as the resolution of Apple iPad 2 screens. The Nexus screen is somewhat smaller than the iPad. It is a good-looking tablet with aluminium frame and soft-touch rear panel. The price of a 16 GB tablet is $399 without the built-in LTE data connection, the one with the built-in data connection is selling for $599, the price of a 32 GB tablet is $479. Nexus 9 can be the next big thing in the world of tablets with its good-looks, new operating system and awesome price.
Nexus Player the last of the three latest products by Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is a media streaming device for Android TV. It is like a hockey puck shaped set-top box that can be plugged into any TV, it then streams movies and television shows from various sources like Netflix, Hulu Plus and Google Play store. Nexus player has a feature that is able to pull up cards showing the viewer who is on the TV show they are watching. It comes with a remote that has a voice search feature. The box can also be controlled by a game controller, which can be bought separately as well. Nexus Player was manufactured by ASUS and can become a tough competitor for Amazon’s Fire TV and the Roku 3. Google Play store is taking pre-orders for Nexus Play for $99.
