Expiration Date
Last exercise date of an option. For American style options, this term denotes the last date on which the option can be exercised, for European style options it denotes the only day on which it can be exercised. In case of stock options, the Saturday following the 3rd Friday of the month of expiration is the expiration date. But brokerage firms may have an earlier date by when they need intimation of intent to exercise.
