Apple’s new senior vice president of retail, Angela Ahrendts, who previously was the CEO of Fashion brand Burberry, announced in a message through an unnamed source on 9to5mac that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is going to release its much awaited watch in Spring 2015.
It looks like there has been some delay in its official launching schedule, as the official launch was planned for early 2015, which has now been shifted to any time between late March and early June. It has also been reported that Apple is going to try something new this time.
Instead of delivering in boxes they are going to let the costumers try on the watches in stores. The watch has been speculated to be an amazing mini-computer, which will include the facility to help keep you on track with your appointments and to-do lists. You can keep a check on your health vitals through HealthKit and keep in touch with your friends, such is its diversity. It can potentially suggest new ways for you to keep more fit and active. The only drawback for now seems the extremely expensive price tag for the watch.
The watch contains Apple’s new S1 processor, which is advertised as entire computer architecture on a single chip. It is also considered to be extremely accurate, connected to the global time standard with GPS satellite precision. It adjusts its time automatically and the watch comes with over two million faces which you can change any time you want! You can choose stopwatches, stock quotes, weather updates and more. The personalization features are endless.
The Apple Inc. watch offers more intimate ways to connect; it allows you to not only see the messages but actually experience them as well, just like the iPhone. You just have to tap the picture of the friend to make a call or to send a message; communication through the watch is exceedingly enhanced. The digital touch feature gives is fun and allows you to spontaneously connect with other apple watch wearers wrist to wrist. It uses GPS and wi-fi connected to your iPhone to track how much and how far you have moved.
Its workout app contains more amazingly detailed features, giving you real time stats such as time, distance, calories and pace while doing a cardio workout. Your workout is included in your activity app measurements of the day; the progress is tracked over time on iPhone.
Another great feature is Apple Pay. It will allow you to pay groceries and do other things using your debit and credit cards at hundreds of thousands of locations all over the country.
The starting price in the US will be $349 and according to Chris Davies the devices that may face tough competition are LG G watch R, Samsung gear S, Motorola Moto 360, Sony smart watch 3, omate X, ASUS zen watch, Meta M1, oneplus onewatch and Gilt Hp smartwatch. According to him no current generation Apple watch competitor would sell well if customers were sure of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) watch’s arrival date. He adds that even though the delivery date is not that close, there are no current Apple products which can possibly cannibalize its sales. That’s exactly the reason which gives Apple a lot of time for beta testing and sorting out bugs.
