Looxcie, Inc. announced that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will carry some of its product line in European Apple Stores Monday evening at the Consumer Electronics Show. Consumers who buy into an Apple and Looxcie product package will be able to use an iPhone or iPad with WiFi to instantly view, edit or share video with friends, family or the public at large.
In what might actually be an innovative product integration move for the Cuppertino firm, this partnership will allow European consumers to buy hands-free video systems alongside business-grade Apple equipment, via Looxcie’s new HD camera.
A Livewire press release that dropped this morning via Reuters announces that specs for the camera that will offered in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Stores are 1080p video capture, 480 p live mobile streaming, ability to broadcast live to closed or public networks and direct to Facebook streaming. The camera will be bundled as part of an “adventure pack” that includes a ball cap clip, helmet mount, handlebar mount and vented helmet mount as of Jan. 23. The companion app is already set up for free download in the App Store.
Looxcie also announced the arrival of a more rugged camera system called the Vidcie Tough in Vegas on Monday. It is expected that Vidcie Tough will also pair with Apple smartphones or tablets and include a variety of heads and mounts for enhanced flexibility and have an unprecedented eight hours of battery life though it will not be offered for sale in Apple Stores at this time.
This development may also bode well for predictions made earlier in the week that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) would be taking a larger bite out of business markets made by Peter Misek of Jefferies and others late last week, even though currently it seems that a potential consumer market is the one currently targeted by Looxcie, and will hopefully generate more sales of Apple product.
In response to news of the launch, CEO Romulus Periera told Reuters,“We continue to bring the Looxcie experience to more people globally so they have theability to capture, create and share their memories with friends and family in real time through Looxcie video cams, anytime, anywhere. Through Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) retail we are now bringing this reality to consumers across Europe. Technology has made the world smaller, and we’re excited to make Looxcie video cams even more accessible to people who want to connect and share their memories and experiences with anyone on the planet.”
