Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Tim Cook will be on his way back to China only 10 months after his initial trip. Bloomberg reports that Apple had doubled their number of retail stores in China undoubtedly due to demand for Apple products.
“Cook today met Miao Wei, head of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, to talk about the development of China’s information technology industry, global mobile communications and Apple’s business in China, according to a statement posted on the ministry’s website.”
Tim Cook stands by his statement that Apple presence in China is a great investment in the world’s largest marketplace of computer and mobile phone purchasers.
What else Tim Cook has in store during his visit is speculation but I wouldn’t be surprised if he works on finalizing the iPhone deal with China Mobile. China Mobile hopes this deal with Apple will help them regain traction with 3G customers as rival China Telecom siphons off users.
Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) opened the doors of their first store in Beijing, China in 2008.
