Alden Credit Union, based in Massachusetts is offering a special rate on 21 month certificates of deposit.

Savers can earn 1.50% APY on the CDs. It will require a minimum deposit of $1,000. To buy the CDs, you will have to be a member of the credit union. Those living, worshiping or working in the counties of Hampshire and Hampden will be eligible to purchase the CDs. To become a member you will have to make a deposit of $25 in your savings account.
