On this page I have created a list of upcoming events that could have an impact on bitcoin (BTC) in 2014. I have also included bitcoin conferences and expos that will be held in 2014. I will update this page with more important dates and conferences as they are discovered.
- 01/25/14 & 01/26/14
- North America Bitcoin Conference in Miami. More than 500 bitcoin activist will be attending with the goal of taking the currency from speculation to mainstream. You can view the full conference agenda on this page.
- 01/28/14 & 01/29/14
- New York State Department of Financial Services regulatory meeting on bitcoin. This is a public hearing will the goal of gathering facts about virtual currencies and how to move forward with regulatory guidelines.
- 01/31/14
- January 31st is the deadline China has set where bitcoin can not be purchased by banks, third party processors or used to purchase goods. There has been a lot of debate and discussion on this subject and the two best resources of information I have found are here and here. General conciseness seems to say this upcoming event is already priced into bitcoin.
- 02/06/14
- Gavin Andresen who is the chief scientist at the Bitcoin Foundation will speak to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in Washington, DC. If you’re unfamilar with the CFR you can read about them on Wikipedia. Gavin also created a post on bitcointalk to discuss this event.
- 03/06/14
- Texas Bitcoin Conference held in Austin, Texas. Keynote speakers include founder of Andreas Antonopoulos RootEleven and Anthony Gallippi co-founder of BitPay.
- 03/07/14
- Call for Papers 1st workshop on bitcoin research. This workshop looks like it will cover the fundamentals of bitcoin and dig deeper into the protocol.
- 04/11/14 – 04/13/14
- Bitcoin Alliance of Canada of announced Bitcoin Expo 2014 in Toronto. The main agenda of this expo is discuss growth and development of Bitcoin communities worldwide.
- 06/20/14 – 06/22/14
- Bitcoin in the Beltway will be held in Washington, DC. I like this event because it’s in the heart of our nations capital or the dragon’s den as their website says.
- 6 Different Dates & Locations
- Inside Bitcoins will be held in Germany, New York, China, Australia, England and Nevada. Inside Bitcoins is a conference/expo which will cover government compliance, marketing, managing and launching businesses with virtual currency.
Conferences & Events That Have Not Set a Date

- Bitcoin Expo China 2014 is a three day conference in China. The exact dates have not been released yet.

- Bitcoinvention in Asia was set for 2013 but was cancelled. A new convention is expected to be announced sometime in 2014.
